Bea MacGregor is a proud Dartmouthian!
She was raised in Dartmouth and following the completion of her Bachelor of Design and Environment Planning from Dalhousie University and NSCAD in 1989, Bea began working as the Executive Director of the Downtown Dartmouth Development Corporation from 1989 to 1999. In 1999, she became the first Executive Director of Alderney Landing, the Cultural and Business Hub of Dartmouth, where she is now the CEO. Bea is a person who achieves firsts, including:
- Established the first commercial recycling program in Canada in downtown Dartmouth
- As the Executive Director of the Downtown Dartmouth Development Corporation working collaboratively with leaders, businesses and residents Bea established the first downtown business commission
- Established a downtown municipal plan, a waterfront plan, and the worked on the committee to build Alderney Landing
- As the CEO of Alderney Landing, Alderney Landing now hosts 700 events attracting 400,000 people annually, with a direct and indirect impact economic impact of $75 million annually for the Dartmouth community.
Bea spends her spare time with family and friends and loves outdoor sports.
